About the Transition from WebCT to LATTE
WebCT was Brandeis University's course management system from 1997 through Summer 2007. In Summer 2007, LATTE replaced WebCT as Brandeis' primarily online learning environment.
LTS has attempted to archive all course files on WebCT and we will do everything we can to retrieve your files upon request and place them in your LATTE course. However, some files may no longer be available.
Access Requested Files Uploaded from WebCT into LATTE
To request WebCT files, please send an email including the course code and semester of your old WebCT course and the new LATTE course to latte@brandeis.edu.
Requested files will be placed in the Files section, accessed through the LATTE course's Administration block.
You will find your files and folders listed alphabetically in your courses Files directory. You may also find screenshots taken of your previous WebCT course in order to help you reorganize your course in LATTE.
Sharing Your Files with Students
In order to make your files accessible to students, you will need to link to them in the course homepage. Go to the "Working with Your Files" section in the LATTE Help Web site.
Known File Transfer Issues
Some files from WebCT may not transfer to LATTE because of the following issues:
- The file is over 50 MB. LATTE has a 50 MB upload limit. Instructors wanting to share large files with students should contact LATTE Help (latte@brandeis.edu) for alternative solutions.
- The file includes characters not accepted by LATTE, including exclamation points and apostrophes. Files that contain this characters will not open in LATTE. LATTE Help will need to retrieve and/or rename the files from WebCT manually.
- Files that are missing their file extensions (examples: .pdf, .doc, .txt) will not open in LATTE. Files that are renamed to include the file extension can be opened.
