New Trustees Join Board

Frances Bermanzohn ’78, Adam Rifkin ’97 and James Humphreys were recently elected to the Brandeis Board of Trustees, continuing the trend toward increasing involvement of graduates in university governance. Of the board’s 45 voting members, 29 are alumni.

Bermanzohn, a managing director and deputy general counsel at Goldman Sachs, has been active in the Alumni Club of New York’s Wall Street network and Reunion organizing committees. She has generously supported student scholarships and contributed to the Alumni Annual Fund.

Rifkin, a managing director in the Retail Investment Banking Group at Barclays Capital, joins the board by virtue of his presidency of the Brandeis Alumni Association. He has served on the association board since 2006 and became a vice president a year later. Rifkin has supported student scholarships at his alma mater.

Humphreys is a practicing attorney and president of James F. Humphreys and Associates, a law firm in Charleston, W. Va. He formerly served in the West Virginia legislature and is a member of numerous nonprofit boards, including those serving George Washington University, the Brain Injury Association of America and the Washington National Opera.
