Albert Chao, president, CEO and director of Westlake Chemical, was elected to a four-year term on the board of trustees at Rice University. Albert served two previous terms on the board from 2000-08. In 1985, he assisted his father, T.T., and brother, James, in founding Westlake Chemical, a global supplier of petrochemicals, polymers and fabricated products. He served as the company’s executive vice president until he succeeded James as president in 1996. He has been a director since 2003.
