David Friend was named chief clinical officer at Golden Living, which operates health-care service centers that provide rehab, home care, assisted-living and skilled-nursing care, and hospice services in 40 states, reaching 60,000 patients. David will oversee clinical practices and the integration of the company’s clinical resources. He was previously president and chief medical officer of AseraCare, a Golden Living company. Neil Kressel, P’16, reports that his oldest child, Sam ’16, is enjoying his first year at Brandeis. Neil’s fifth book, “The Sons of Pigs and Apes: Muslim Anti-Semitism and the Conspiracy of Silence,” was published last year. Part of the book was written while he was a visiting associate professor at the (unfortunately now-defunct) Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of Anti-Semitism. In 2011, Neil received the Tikkun Olam Award from the Haiti Jewish Refugee Legacy Project.
