Sol Bernstein, P’15, has joined Citibank’s legal department as director and associate general counsel. Liz Jaffee, co-director of the Gastrointestinal Cancers Program in the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University, was appointed to the National Cancer Advisory Board by President Barack Obama. The board counsels and assists the National Cancer Institute and reviews grants before the institute approves them. Liz has been associate director for translational research and the co-director of the Skip Viragh Pancreatic Cancer Center since 2010. She is the deputy director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Johns Hopkins and serves on the National Cancer Institute’s Experimental Therapeutics Program Panel on Investigational Drugs Committee. Amiet Goldman Kahn and her husband, Colin, celebrated their son Eric’s bar mitzvah on Oct. 20, 2012, with Brandeis friends Marian Garber Marlowe ’83, P’16; Debbie Naseck Bienstock ’83; and Dan Bienstock ’82. Eric’s sister, Sara, is working toward the next family bnai mitzvah in May 2015. Amiet, Colin, Eric and Sara live near Morristown, N.J. Glen Shear, who has successfully transitioned from private equity/investment banker to Israeli artist, exhibited original artwork in the United States for the first time at Artexpo Miami.
