Debra Eichenbaum married Jonah Perlin on Nov. 3, 2012, at the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles, in Chantilly, Va. Debra is a presidential management fellow for human-rights law at the U.S. Homeland Security Department’s Office of the Principal Legal Adviser in Washington, D.C. She works on immigration and customs enforcement issues. She received a law degree cum laude from Boston College. Her husband is a law clerk at the Washington law firm Williams & Connolly. Washington and Lee University law student Sam Petsonk received a highly coveted postgraduate fellowship from the Skadden Foundation. The fellowship provides funds to law students who want to devote their professional lives to providing legal services to the poor, the elderly, the homeless and the disabled, as well as those deprived of their civil or human rights. Sam, who was born and raised in the coal-mining area around Morgantown, W.Va., will work for Mountain State Justice, which represents coal miners who have experienced unsafe working conditions. He will also help miners gain access to a variety of state and federal health services and assist them in public hearings before regulatory agencies. Melissa Alter Sussman, MA’07, married Jeffrey Sussman on Dec. 8, 2012, at the Garden City (N.Y.) Hotel.
