Deborah Bial, founder and president of the Posse Foundation, received the 2013 Anne Roe Award from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dean Kathleen McCartney presented Deborah with the award — established in 1979 to honor the first woman tenured at Harvard, who was a leading researcher on career development and women — on March 6. The awards ceremony was followed by a lecture in which Deborah discussed society’s need for fairness and justice. Wayne Weitz was promoted to managing director at Gavin/Solmonese, a corporate restructuring and public-affairs strategies firm. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance and capital structure optimization, cross-border insolvencies and bankruptcies, offshore jurisdictional transactions, financial and operational restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and complex litigation.
