Michael Berger, a partner and appellate co-chair at Los Angeles-based Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, received the 2014 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize from William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law at its 11th annual Property Rights Project Conference. The award is presented each year to an individual whose work affirms that property rights are fundamental to protecting and preserving individual liberty. Michael is the first practicing lawyer to receive the national prize. Past winners include former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
