Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy named Jonathan Harris the commissioner of the state’s Department of Consumer Protection. Most recently, he was executive director for the Connecticut Democratic Party. Jonathan earlier served as a state senator and the mayor of West Hartford. Rich Klein was recognized in The New Yorker and Vanity Fair magazines as Hollywood’s go-to person for foreign-locations needs and politically complicated script development. A partner at McLarty Associates, Rich heads the advisory firm’s Middle East and film and media practice areas. Recent screen credits for his script and locations work include Jon Stewart’s directorial debut, “Rosewater”; “Kill the Messenger,” with Jeremy Renner; “Furious 7,” which was filmed in Abu Dhabi; and the spy thriller “Safe House,” with Denzel Washington. Travels have also taken Rich to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jeddah and Kathmandu, as well as to a 45-degree winter Atlantic Ocean plunge with Vin Higuera; Steve Samuels; Jon Wray, PhD’95; and Steve Schwartz, to celebrate their 50th birthdays. Francine Ferraro Rothkopf was honored at MetroWest Jewish Day School’s annual Winter Lights Gala for her commitment to the Framingham, Mass., school, which opened its doors in 2003.
