Letty Cottin Pogrebin was named to the Forward 50, the publication’s annual list of notable and newsworthy American Jews. Letty, a co-founder of Ms. Magazine and a longtime advocate for women, recently wrote the critically acclaimed “How to Be a Friend to a Friend Who’s Sick.” Her 10th book, it’s an effort to raise consciousness about what those who are ailing really need. The work of Ellen Lapidus Stern, known as the artist Lapidot, was showcased at an exhibition, “Painting from Jerusalem,” at the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel.
