The HistoryMakers video project, founded and led by Julieanna Richardson, will become part of the Library of Congress. The collection includes 9,000 hours of video interviews with 2,600 African-Americans in more than 35 states. “The slaves will now be joined with their progeny,” Julieanna told The New York Times, referring to the library’s slave-narratives archives, which include more than 2,300 first-person accounts that the Works Progress Administration collected during the 1930s. Joani (Krieger) Mitchell works as a management consultant and travel professional, and lives on the beach in Santa Cruz, Calif. Son Dan is getting his MBA at UCLA; daughter Rachel is pursuing a master’s degree in social work in San Diego; and daughter Shoshana is working on her doctorate in economics at the University of California, Davis. Lewis Kachur and William Agee wrote “Masterpieces of American Modernism: From the Vilcek Collection,” which features artists Arthur Dove, Georgia O’Keeffe and Stuart Davis. Lewis also wrote an essay on Georges Braque and musical instruments, published in the catalog of the Leonard A. Lauder Cubist Collection at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Several threads in the essay first appeared in Lewis’ Brandeis senior thesis. Renee Robin is senior counsel and director of permitting at SunPower Corp., where she is involved in the global development of utility-scale solar projects. Son Aaron McCreary works as an investment adviser in Los Angeles, and recently made a documentary film, “Village of Peace,” about the Black Hebrew community in Dimona, Israel. Son Miles McCreary consults on sustainable agriculture and food systems, and just completed a waste-to-energy project for a brewery and greenhouse in Colorado. Husband Scott continues his work as the principal of CONCUR, a company specializing in the resolution of science-intensive disputes and negotiation. Rabbi Amy Eilberg published her first book, “From Enemy to Friend: Jewish Wisdom and the Pursuit of Peace.”
