Frieda Fuchs and Veljko Vujacic have taken a three-year leave from Oberlin College and are enjoying life in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where Veljko serves as provost of the European University at Saint Petersburg. The couple and their 12-year-old son, Danilo Nadav, are enjoying the city’s many museums, concert halls and ballet venues. Stephanie Dulitz Katz was named Board Member of the Year by The Arc Montgomery County. The award recognizes her work in behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities during her time on the organization’s board of directors. Samuel Ramer is the acting assistant attorney general for legislative affairs at the U.S. Department of Justice. He heads the department’s Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), which manages the department’s relationship with Congress. Nancy Shay, an English teacher for more than 30 years, was named Teacher of the Year in Montgomery County, Maryland. For 23 years, she has worked at Richard Montgomery High, where she teaches both high achievers and students less academically motivated. “I love being in the classroom,” she told The Washington Post. “Every day is different.
