Melissa (Bartman) Assenzio and her husband, Michael, welcomed daughter Morgan Elise on Feb. 23. The first grandchild on both sides of the family, the baby is being thoroughly spoiled by her grandparents. Melani Friedman and husband Mark Saltzman welcomed a son, Evan Jacob, on March 14 during the biggest snowstorm of the winter. Big sisters Jenna and Marissa, and big brother Brian are excited to have a new baby brother. Sara Harrison and husband Toby had another baby, Maisie Louise, born on Jan. 17, 2016. She joined big brothers Aiden and Wyatt. David Jackel and his wife, Shana, welcomed daughter Bronwyn on June 6. Elizabeth Kraft Korngold and her husband, Adam, had a son, Grant Henry, in December.Grant joins big brother Warren, 2. Andrés Lessing was elected to the board of directors of Neurofibromatosis Northeast, a patient-advocacy nonprofit. At the age of 9 months, Andrés was diagnosed with the disease, a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue. Jackie (Tetenbaum) Novatt is an assistant professor at Long Island University School of Pharmacy, in Brooklyn. She reports she’s having a blast teaching future pharmacists about research while working to understand and combat drug resistance in HIV. Karen Putterman and Daniel Schneider welcomed their second daughter, Roxie Lea, into the world on Dec. 21. Older sister Kitra Aviva is ecstatic. The family lives in central Connecticut, where they’re happy to be just a short drive from Brandeis. Ari Rabin-Havt has returned to Capitol Hill, this time as senior adviser to U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, of Vermont. Until early this year, Ari hosted a SiriusXM radio show, “The Agenda.” Michael Rose writes, “After nine years as a reporter at Bloomberg BNA in Washington, D.C., I moved to New York City and am now an assistant managing editor at Law360, a legal news website owned by LexisNexis. I oversee a team of reporters covering a variety of legal topics. I am excited to be back in NYC, where I lived from 2004-07. I’m enjoying getting to know my new neighborhood of Sunnyside, Queens.” Margalit (Friedman) Segal welcomed Gideon Jonah on Sept. 26, 2016. He joins his big brother and sister, Asher and Avital. Aaron Shimoff and his wife, Sarah, announce the birth of their daughter, Ellsworth. Amy Sulds married Evan Kaplan on June 25 at the Loeb Boathouse Central Park. She is a learning specialist at the Rodeph Sholom School, an independent Jewish day school in Manhattan. She is also the assistant director of the summer musical-theater workshop at Lucy Moses School, a community arts center. Evan is a software engineering manager at Zocdoc, an online service that connect patients with medical providers. Nadine (Kantrow) Timpa had her first child, Steven Dalton, in August 2016.
