Lisa Aremband and Brian Blumenthal ’12 were married on Sept. 4 in San Rafael, California. Many Brandeis friends joined in the celebration. They have combined their last names to create a new one: Blumenband. Mitchell Berkowitz married Rebecca Ravski on Aug. 28 in Woodbridge, Connecticut. Rabbi Evan Ravski, a brother of the bride, who set up the couple in 2012, performed the ceremony at Congregation B’nai Jacob. Mitchell is a rabbinical student at the Jewish Theological Seminary, in New York City, and serves as the rabbinic intern for the Shelter Rock Jewish Center, in Roslyn, New York. Danielle Gurr married Zachary Cohen on Nov. 13 at the Village Club at Lake Success, in Great Neck, New York. The wedding included many Brandeis alumni, including Danielle’s mother, Robbin Schneider Gurr ’78, P’11; Danielle’s cousins Robert and Jeffrey Culver; and Zach’s cousin Joseph Corsello ’12. Danielle is a research scientist at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and Zach is owner of the Manhattan and Brooklyn franchises of the Junkluggers, an eco-friendly furniture-removal company. They live in NYC. Josh Mandell married Jillian Weisman on Oct. 30 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Many friends from Brandeis came to celebrate the special day, including members of TRON and Banshee, the Brandeis ultimate Frisbee teams. Josh and Jillian live in NYC, where some of his closest friends are ones he made at Brandeis. Emily Owen married Michael Stone ’09 on Nov. 4 at Dibbles Inn, in Vernon, New York. A total of 30 alumni, most of whom were members of the Brandeis cross-country and track teams, attended. Theresa (Sheehan) Rapa and husband Michael welcomed identical twin boys, Owen and Oliver, on July 16. The boys are happy and healthy, and Theresa and Michael are overjoyed to have them in their lives. Danielle Schivek is legal counsel at Richemont North America, where she works with all the company’s brands, including Cartier, Chloe, IWC, Montblanc, Panerai, Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels. Arielle Schwartz earned an MBA and is working as an account executive at Canon.
