Sandra Feibelmann married Craig DeLuccia on April 29 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lynne (Feibelmann) Abrams was the matron of honor. Nadia Hashimi — pediatrician, mother of four and author of best-selling novels for adults and children — unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Congress in Maryland. Her campaign received the endorsements of Feminist Majority and Clinicians for Progressive Care, and her political platform focused on universal health coverage as a way of addressing soaring health-care costs. Nadia’s latest novel for young readers, “The Sky at Our Feet,” which tells the story of the child of an undocumented immigrant, has received starred reviews in Publisher’s Weekly and School Library Journal. In May, Elisabeth Ioannides and husband Nikolas Chatzifotis welcomed a daughter; the new baby joins her 2-and-a-half-year-old big sister. Elisabeth is an education curator at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, Greece. She’s done research on the application of art therapy in museums and galleries, and writes about art therapy in such publications as the Canadian Art Therapy Association Journal, Museum International and the International Journal of Psychotherapy. Raw-foods chef and life coach Debra Mazer is the author of “Open-Eyed Heart-Wide Haggadah,” a collaboration with cantor Shira Batalion. Described by Jewcy.com as “a progressive ritual guide for Passover that is spiritually inclusive, multicultural and inspirational,” the book contains vegetarian-, vegan-, raw- and omnivore-friendly ideas. Joel Roberts ran the Boston Marathon in April on behalf of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he received lifesaving medical treatment last year. Larkin Tackett opened an education consulting practice that helps school districts, agencies and foundations close the academic achievement gap. He previously spent five years leading IDEA Public Schools, a charter-school network in Austin. He and his wife, Katie Tackett, with the help of their three children, recently completed their first, life-changing experience as foster parents.
