David French has moved from the video game industry to civic tech to “actively fight for a better world,” he says. His first civic tech job was working at the U.S. Department of Labor. He now works as lead UX designer/developer for Travis County, Texas. David’s art collective recently represented Austin at the UNESCO Gangneung Danoje art festival in South Korea. Hannah Goldberg is in the midst of her residency in combined emergency medicine and internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She and her boyfriend just bought a house in Baltimore, where she plans to live for the next five to six years as she completes her residency. Sophie Golomb and Sarah Pace live across the country from each other but report their long-distance friendship is still going strong. Sophie, who earned a degree in environmental education from NYU Steinhardt, was recently promoted to assistant manager at NYU’s Office of Sustainability. Sarah, who earned a degree in law from the University of California, Berkeley, begins working at Boies Schiller Flexner in Oakland in the fall. Claudiane Philippe, MA’14, was featured in a March 22 Boston Globe piece that discussed her popular Instagram feed @nailthecocktail. In the article, Claudiane explains the buzz around her photos: “It’s crazy. I remember sometime last summer, I had gone to [Boston restaurant] Saltie Girl with one of my friends, and I took a picture of a prickly pear drink. After I posted the picture, it was my first viral picture and got reposted by big accounts, and ... I grew 700 followers in less than 48 hours. Now people come to my page as a resource. They can look at the ingredients and the look of the drink, and see what they want to order. I think people have taken my account as a drink guide to the city, where it used to be just finding pretty pictures.” Jessie Stettin is director of strategy at Indeed, a German innovation and design consultancy firm. Based in Boston, he identifies Fortune 500s, SMEs, VCs and startups with whom the firm can have the most impact. Gordy Stillman will begin pursuing a Master of Accountancy at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management this fall. Hanna Switlekowski started a new position as legislative director for Massachusetts State Senator Paul Feeney. In February, she was elected chair of the Sharon (Mass.) Democratic Town Committee. Sara Weininger graduated in May from Washington University in St. Louis with an MFA in studio art.

FIT AS A FIDDLE: Alumni who work at athenahealth gathered for a Brandeis at Work event hosted by the Hiatt Career Center and the Brandeis Alumni Association, with help from Bela Labovitch ’87, P’17, and Alexandra Shapiro ’13. The Brandeis at Work initiative brings together alumni where they are employed to develop pipelines for talent recruitment and expand corporate partnership opportunities.
