Dov Gold earned a master’s in professional psychology and is beginning a doctoral research project studying depression in Alzheimer’s disease. Fay Laborio earned a master’s in nursing from the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins and is now in its pediatric Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Josh Luger and Lauren (Offermann) Luger were married in Washington, D.C., on July 1 surrounded by family, friends and many Brandeisians. Danielle Novotny self-published her first novel, “Remade,” the first installment in a young-adult sci-fi series. It follows a female protagonist’s journey of self-acceptance amid space travel, threats from deadly enemies and romance. Sam Daniels and Rachel Benjamin ’14, who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Master of Social Work program in May, are licensed social workers. Sam, a survivor-services clinician at mental-health agency JJPI, provides therapy to kids and adults who have experienced trauma and loss. Rachel works at Lutheran Settlement House, providing crisis counseling to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and educating medical providers about IPV. Houstonia magazine interviewed Ryne Christopher Williams in April about his fashion blog, The Styles of Houston, which documents the city’s diverse street style. The blog is an offshoot of a similar project Ryan started at Brandeis, called Fashions of Brandeis. “What stands out most about a person’s fashion to me is their confidence,” Ryan told Houstonia. “I absolutely love seeing people comfortable in their own skin.”
