The Mandel Center has opened a search for the Leader of the Mandel-DeLeT Project starting August 2010. Research Associate — Choosing to Teach

Responsibilities
The Research Associate will support a longitudinal survey on Jewish day school teachers identity, professional commitments, and career development. Responsibilities include: check and clean data, help formulating and conducting appropriate statistical and analytical procedures for the research and evaluation analysis, perform advanced data analysis (multivariate analysis). Assists in producing research reports. Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge in using statistical software (SPSS) to organize and work with data sets of cohort studies. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using multivariate regression modeling for data analysis. Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Excel spreadsheet. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in data collection and quantitative analysis of surveys using multivariate regression and/or survival analysis. Doctoral student preferred with interest in teacher quality, retention, teaching workforce, or Jewish Education with background and interest in measurement, evaluation and quantitative analysis.
