Ramie TargoffRamie Targoff teaches and studies Renaissance English literature, with an emphasis on the relationship between poetry and religion. She has written books on common prayer and its relationship to the Renaissance devotional lyric, and on the poetry and prose of the 17th-century author, John Donne.

Her new work is a study of erotic verse in the Italian and English Renaissance, entitled "Mortal Love."
