Postdoctoral Research Associate:
Nonlinear Chemical dynamics
A postdoctoral position is available in our research group at Brandeis University in nonlinear chemical dynamics. We are looking for a strong theorist interested in participating in our studies of pattern formation in reaction-diffusion systems, coupled chemical oscillators, and stochastic models. While previous experience in nonlinear dynamics or statistical mechanics is desirable, candidates with a basic knowledge of chemistry and/or physics and a strong background in any relevant area of chemistry, biology, physics, engineering or mathematics will be considered. More information about our research may be found on our websites at http://hopf.chem.brandeis.edu/, http://www.brandeis.edu/departments/physics/chakraborty/index.html, and http://www.brandeis.edu/mrsec/. This position will be jointly supervised by Professors Irving Epstein (Chemistry) and Bulbul Chakraborty (Physics) within the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center at Brandeis University. Applications and 2-3 letters of recommendation should be sent to bottaro@brandeis.edu by June 10, 2012. The expected starting date for the position is January 1, 2013. Brandeis University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action institution, and applications from women and members of under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged.
