Get into the holiday spirit at the Messiah Sing on Wednesday
The beloved Brandeis tradition Messiah Sing returns to the Shapiro Campus Center Atrium on Wednesday, Dec. 10. All members of the Brandeis community, as well as family and friends, are welcome to celebrate the holiday season with the sing-along concert of Handel’s masterwork "Messiah." The one-hour concert will begin at 4 p.m.
Scores will be available for anyone who would like to join the Hallelujah Chorus. No singing experience is necessary. The community concert will feature members of the Brandeis Orchestra conducted by Neal Hampton, and the Brandeis Chorus under the direction of James Olesen.
"The Messiah Sing has become a delightful holiday tradition at Brandeis," said Hampton. "It's wonderful to see the community united in the performance of great art."
The Waltham Group, the university's volunteer community service organization, will also be collecting non-perishable food items for local food banks and shelters, while Dining Services staff will be collecting donations for Toys for Tots. Collections will continue at locations across campus through Thursday, Dec. 18.
