E.J. Graff on international adoption (Foreign Policy)

E.J. Graff, associate director and senior researcher at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis, has written “The Lie We Love,” which was published in Foreign Policy Magazine’s Nov./Dec. 2008 edition.

Graff’s article discusses how foreign adoption seems like the perfect solution to a heartbreaking imbalance: Poor countries have babies in need of homes, and rich countries have homes in need of babies. However, she found that the little orphaned bundles of joy might not be orphans at all.
