WALTHAM, Mass.--The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University is pleased to announce its fall exhibition, "Atmospheric Conditions." The show will feature the works of Eric Fischl, April Gornik and Bill Viola.

"We are very proud to be able to welcome these three artists to the Rose and excited to be able to offer this exhibit," says Roy Dawes, director of museum operations.

"Eric is known for painting provocative, voyeuristic images of suburban life that invite the viewer to participate through scenes that are left open to interpretation," writes Dawes. "April creates her sensual landscapes by combining direct references from nature and filtering them through her imagination to arrive at a magical result. And Bill utilizes 'videoscapes' to

develop themes of human consciousness by reflecting on mystical traditions and exploring the transformation of emotion."

In conjunction with this exhibition the Rose will also present "WaterWays," works from the permanent collection that utilize water as form, muse, metaphor and inspiration. Some of the artists to be featured are: John Marin, Fairfield Porter, Milton Avery, Neil Welliver and Roy Lichtenstein.

The highly acclaimed current exhibition, "Works from the Collection," will be extended to June 20. At its conclusion, the museum will be closed during July and August, with the new exhibition to open in September.
