Brandeis arts faculty spread talents well beyond campus

Arts faculty members are more than expert teachers: They are active participants in their fields.

From top left, clockwise: Adrianne Krstansky in "Come Back, Little Sheba," Willie Stewart's "The Love You Withhold is the Pain that You Carry" at kijidome, dance at Shakespeare & Company choreographed by Susan Dibble, Daniel Stepner performing during a previous Aston Magna Music Festival.

Whether performing music, starring in theater productions or exhibiting artistic creations, when members of the Brandeis University creative arts faculty aren't working with students, they are usually working on their craft.

“Our faculty are accomplished professional artists, musicians, actors, and designers who have an important presence on the stage, in concert halls, museums, sculpture gardens and public spaces," said Susan Birren, dean of the College of Arts and Science at Brandeis. "Their success in the world and their passion and skill allow them to provide insight and experience to their students here at Brandeis."
