The Brandeis Department of Theater Arts presented a production of Lynn Notage's award-winning "Intimate Apparel," directed by Jacqui Parker, from Thursday, March 3 through Sunday, March 6.

The play tells the story of Esther, an African-American seamstress in 1905 New York, who creates exquisite lingerie for clients ranging from prostitutes to wealthy white patrons. The story centers on Esther's search for love and success and the racial and socioeconomic obstacles she faces.
