Statement for media related to death of student

INFORMATION ON THE TRAGIC PASSING OF CHUANCHUAN “KURTIS” ZHANG

We continue to mourn the tragic loss of Chuanchuan Zhang, a graduate student at Brandeis International Business School, while off campus in Boston, over the weekend of 11/18. We express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Many of Chuanchuan Zhang’s friends, fellow students, professors and advisers gathered in a large community meeting at Brandeis to honor his memory on Tuesday, November 21.

我们怀着沉痛的心情持续悼念我校国际商学院研究生张川川。张川川上周末11月18日在波士顿校园外去世。我们对张川川的家人和朋友表示最深切的慰问。11月21日（星期二），许多张川川生前的朋友、同学、教授和导师在学院内举行了一个追思会，缅怀他的生前事迹。

The University remains in close contact with Chuanchuan Zhang’s family and is providing them with all the assistance it can to help them answer their questions about this tragedy. The University also fully respects the family’s need for privacy during this enormously difficult time and hopes that others will do so as well.

我校与张川川的家人始终保持着密切联络，提供尽可能的帮助，解答他们对于这一不幸事件的问询。对于张川川的家人而言，这是一段异常艰难的时间，我校充分尊重他们对于此事提出的隐私保护，同时也希望其他关注此事的人士同样尊重张川川家人的意愿。
