Hillel at Brandeis offers 2009 High Holyday services for the campus community

As in past years, this year Hillel at Brandeis will provide High Holyday services for our students, members of the Brandeis community, and others in the Boston community. We wish to encourage you and your family to join us for High Holyday services at Brandeis this fall.

Our 5770 Rosh Hashanah services will begin Friday evening, September 18, and continue Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2009. Yom Kippur services will commence Sunday evening, September 27, and continue Monday, September 28, 2009. The following services will be offered this
year:

A Conservative Egalitarian service led by Rabbi Elyse Winick '86, Jewish Chaplain at Brandeis University, with Hillel student leaders will be held in the Spingold Theater.

A Reform Community service led by Rabbi Albert S. Axelrad, Director Emeritus of Hillel at Brandeis, will be held the in Levin Ballroom, Usdan Student Center. It will also feature musical leader: Sarah Kornfeld '03, Candidate for Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance, at Westminster Choir College.

A Reform Student-led service, facilitated by Rabbi Bradley Solmsen, Director of Bimah and Genesis at Brandeis, will be held in the International Lounge, Usdan Student Center.

An Orthodox Student-led service with Rabbi Elliot Kaplowitz '02, Co-Director Hillel’s Jewish Learning Initiative, will be held in the Berlin Chapel for Rosh Hashanah and in the Sherman Function Hall, Hassenfeld Conference Center on Yom Kippur.

Admission is open to everyone and is provided without fee for children under 18 years of age and to Brandeis and all other university students with IDs. Donations for our services are voluntary.

For security reasons, all congregants without student IDs must have tickets. Tickets will be sent to those who complete Hillel’s Ticket Request Form. To receive your tickets, please submit the form to Hillel at Brandeis, Brandeis University MS 205, Waltham, MA 02454-9110 or by campus mail Hillel MS 205.
