Reporting an Invention
In order for Brandeis to meet its obligations to sponsors of research and to carry out Brandeis's policy regarding inventions, it is necessary for faculty, students, post-docs, and staff participating in sponsored research to report inventions or other creations with commercial potential to the OTL. This is especially important in the case of research sponsored by the federal government or by industry.
If you think you may have developed intellectual property that might have commercial potential, please report it to OTL. The Invention Disclosure Form indicates the information that OTL needs to evaluate the intellectual property and determine whether investment in protection and licensing is appropriate.
