Find yourself. Lose yourself. Get your answers questioned and your questions answered. A Brandeis education is a vigorous exploration in critical analysis, creativity and self-expression.
Choosing a college (education) is a really big decision. There's so much to think about: size, location, campus community, professors, career services, majors, clubs. The good news is that the most important qualities of a Brandeis education never change: academic rigor, a welcoming, diverse community, innovation in teaching and learning.
Inquiry, scholarship, collaboration and a passion to improve human lives are the building blocks of our DNA. At Brandeis, students learn persistence, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking — and, of course, the joy of discovery.
Free pizza at midnight during finals. Bubble soccer. Clubs that range from a cappella groups to skydiving. If you can’t find your passion here, you can create it — and find other Brandeisians who want to join you.
Art makes things happen. It bridges cultures and forges understanding. It sparks conversation and inspires creativity. Since our founding, the arts have always played an important role in our commitment to global citizenship and social change.
There is no other place like Brandeis. As a medium-sized private research university with global reach, we are dedicated to first-rate undergraduate education while making groundbreaking discoveries. Our 235-acre campus is located in the suburbs of Boston, a global hub for higher education and innovation.
Your directory administrator can edit directory information for your office. If your office doesn't have a directory administrator or a secondary administrator is needed, please contact Identity Management at help@brandeis.edu. Please secure approval from your department manager/chair or the current directory administrator before submitting your request to Identity Management.
In the Offices Directory Management tool, all offices are called departments. To request a new department (a stand-alone department, not associated with any existing department), please contact Identity Management at help@brandeis.edu.
Go to the department administration page, select your department and scroll to the bottom of the page.
In the New Subdepartment text field, enter the name for the new subdepartment and click the Add button.
Once you've added the new subdepartment, you'll be taken to the page where you can edit that new subdepartment.
Offices Directory administrators can edit department information as well as directory information for staff and faculty assigned to their department.
Go to the department administration page and select your department, or search for the person's last name.
Select the person you wish you edit.
Make your updates under User Information and click the Save User Info button.
If the system won't let you edit information for someone you have selected, that means the person is not yet a member of your department. Once you add the person to your department, you'll have access to edit them.
There are two ways to add people to your department or subdepartment.
Method 1
Go to the department administration page.
In the text field under Person, enter the person's last name and click the View Person button.
Select the person you wish you edit.
Click the Add a New Role/Department button.
Select a role (Staff, Faculty, etc.) and a department from the dropdown menus. The department dropdown lists all the departments that you are an administrator of, so if you manage multiple departments, be careful that you are adding individuals to the right department.
Click the Add Role & Department button.
Method 2
Go to the department administration page and select your department.
Scroll down to Individuals Not in a Subdepartment or the relevant subdepartment.
In the text field next to Add, enter the person's username (usually the first part of someone's email address before @brandeis.edu).
Select a role (Staff, Faculty, etc.) from the dropdown.
Click the Add Member button.
Staff and faculty members can update their own contact information on the User page. Contact your office's directory administrator to be added to or removed from departments or subdepartments.
If your question isn't answered here and you need help, please contact Identity Management at help@brandeis.edu.
