About Orientation

Orientation is designed to help you discover the new opportunities available to you at Brandeis. From the moment you set foot on campus, you will participate in a myriad of educational and entertaining programs which will run through the course of the first week of the fall semester.

The programs during Orientation are specifically designed to help you as you discover the new opportunities available to you at Brandeis. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a variety of student leaders including Orientation Leaders, Community Advisors, and Roosevelt Fellows. These students have been trained in a variety of areas to be resources for you and your family.

The Orientation Core Committee, a group of six students advised by the Department of Orientation and First-Year Programs, works throughout the spring and the summer to plan a comprehensive program that addresses the needs of new students, both academically and socially. The Core Committee has worked hard to plan an exciting schedule of events that will help you with your transition to Brandeis.

In addition, Orientation has a number of programs that are specifically designed to help make everyone's acclimation to Brandeis as comfortable as possible, including three programs prior to Orientation, the Transitional Year Program (TYP), the International Student Program and the Mosaic Program, as well as two during Orientation, the Transfer and Commuter Student Program and the Family Program.
