Brandeis is accessible by various forms of transportation. The following information will assist you in making your travel plans.
Most Amtrak trains arrive at Boston’s South Station. Once at South Station you can take the “T” (the Boston subway system) or a taxi to Boston’s North Station. From North Station, transfer to the commuter-rail train that departs for Fitchburg (via South Acton). Brandeis University borders the Brandeis/Roberts stop on that line. To contact Amtrak, call 800-872-7245 or Boston’s local Amtrak, 617-345-7460.
If you are planning on taking a plane, we recommend that you arrive at Boston’s Logan Airport. There are a number of commercial shuttles that will transport you between the airport and Brandeis.
Brandeis students often use Greyhound and Peter Pan buses to get to and from the Mass Bay Transit Authority stations. Buses arrive and depart from South Station in Boston. From South Station, take the “T” and follow the “Trains” directions.
Many students also choose taxicabs and airport shuttle services to bring them to and from Brandeis.

Be sure to check with your carrier before packing your items as restrictions on size and weight often apply. We recommend that you tag your items with two address tags: one on the outside and one on the inside. Purchasing insurance on the items is also recommended.
Label each piece clearly with your name and residence hall. Make sure to ship your items one to two weeks before arriving, as late August is a busy time for many carriers.
