Driving
From the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) Eastbound
Take exit 14 for I-95/Rt 128. After the tollbooth, keep left for 95/128 North. While on the ramp, exit immediately onto exit 24 for Route 30. Bear left onto Route 30. Turn right at the first traffic light. This is South Street, and Brandeis is two miles ahead on the left.
From the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) Westbound
Take exit 15 for I-95/Rt 128 and Route 30. After the tollbooth proceed straight toward Route 30. Turn right at end of the ramp, and then right again at the first traffic light onto Route 30. Turn left at next traffic light. This is South Street, and Brandeis is two miles ahead on the left.
From I-95/Route 128 Southbound
Take exit 24 for Route 30. At end of the ramp, proceed through the light (across Route 30). This is South Street, and Brandeis is two miles ahead on the left.
From I-95/Route 128 Northbound
Take exit 24 for Route 30. Route 30 is one of several options at this exit, so follow signs carefully. Turn left at the top of the ramp onto Route 30. Turn right at the traffic lights. This is South Street, and Brandeis is two miles ahead on the left.
Public Transportation
Brandeis is accessible by various forms of transportation. The following information will assist you in making your travel plans.
Trains
Most Amtrak trains arrive at Boston’s South Station. Once at South Station you can take the “T” (the Boston subway system) or a taxi to Boston’s North Station. From North Station, transfer to the commuter-rail train that departs for Fitchburg (via South Acton). Brandeis University borders the Brandeis/Roberts stop on that line. Airlines
If you are planning on taking a plane, we recommend that you arrive at Boston’s Logan Airport. There are a number of commercial shuttles that will transport you between the airport and Brandeis.
Buses
Brandeis students often use Greyhound and Peter Pan buses to get to and from the Mass Bay Transit Authority stations. Buses arrive and depart from South Station in Boston. From South Station, take the “T” and follow the “Trains” directions.

Shipping Information
You may be planning to ship some of your belongings to Brandeis rather than travel with them. If arriving in August, shipped items will be accepted after August 1-25. If arriving in January, shipped items will be accepted after January 1. Please send all shipped items to one of the following address.

Shipping Companies
There are many companies that offer delivery services that you can use to ship your items to Brandeis. Check the local Yellow Pages for carriers in your area. Be sure to check with your carrier before packing your items as restrictions on size and weight often apply. We recommend that you tag your items with two address tags: one on the outside and one on the inside. Purchasing insurance on the items is also recommended.
Labeling Boxes
Label each piece clearly with your name and residence hall. Make sure to ship your items one to two weeks before arriving, as late August is a busy time for many carriers.
