Orientation Core Team

The Orientation Core Team is a group of students who work closely with the Director of Orientation and First Year Experience to plan all aspects of New Student Orientation for undergraduate first year, transfer and exchange students. The August Team starts working during the spring semester and spends the summer at Brandeis preparing to welcome our newest community members. Our January team works throughout the fall semester and over winter break. All Core Team members have previous experience as Orientation Leaders (OL's). Core Team also plans the training OL's receive to prepare them for their role.

Hi, My name is Eli Fighter. My pronouns are he/him and I am a double major in Anthropology and Sociology with a minor in Women’s Gender and Sexuality studies and Health Science and Social Policy. Outside of orientation and academics my main co-curricular activity is being the co-captain of the Quadball team. Quadball, a gender inclusive full contact sport based on the Harry Potter sport quidditch, is my favorite activity at Brandeis - I love competing against other schools and the community the team brings. I am very excited to be on the Core team for Orientation 24’ and cannot wait to meet all the incoming first year and transfer students and help lead them to an amazing Brandeis experience.

Hello, I'm Katelynn, a passionate student at Brandeis University pursuing majors in HSSP (Health: Science, Society, and Policy) and AAAS (African and African American Studies). I’m originally from Ghana but I currently stay in the Bronx, NY. One of my favorite experiences here is the ICC's production of Culture X, where I find inspiration and joy in exploring diverse cultural expressions. I'm thrilled to connect with you and eager to embark on this academic journey together!

Hi! My name is Esther Rubin, and I am a member of the Class of 2026 from Atlanta, Kenya, and India. I am double majoring in psychology and education studies on the teacher education track. I have been an orientation leader and am excited to work with and support the orientation core team.

On campus, I am the coordinator of Teaching Assistants in Public Schools (TAPS), one of the organizations in Waltham Group. I am also the secretary of the Brandeis Reform Chavurah (BaRuCh), a student-led group affiliated with Brandeis Hillel specifically for Reform Jewish students. I work at the Brandeis Childcare Center, Lemberg, and have tried a bunch of other on-campus clubs!

Brandeis has become a place where I have found my favorite people and where I flourish. I cannot wait for you to try everything and find your place at Brandeis!
