The App Design Program is designed and taught by Tim Hickey, Professor of Computer Science at Brandeis University, who has years of experience teaching technology-based summer programs. Together with a team of talented Brandeis graduate and undergraduate computer science students, we have crafted a learning experience unlike any other.
You will be able to build and develop your coding skills via classroom learning and hands-on experimentation. Each stage of the app development process will be explored—including conception, design, code-writing, testing and marketing your apps. You will then work in teams with your peers to develop your own app from scratch.
If you are a returning student, you will be placed into an advanced group. For those who may be experiencing coding for the first time, you will be able to provide peer-peer guidance and mentoring.
At the conclusion of the program, you will pitch your apps to local programmers and app developers at companies like Google and Fablevision for feedback and guidance.
