Brandeis University, voted the #1 school in the country for student community service engagement, utilizes a "People First" methodology alongside our University's world-renowned commitment to social justice to build a service experience unlike any other.
At Brandeis, we believe that human relationships are the key to promoting lasting social change. At Service Corps, you will not just complete service tasks, but will meet and interact with the individuals who directly benefit from your work.
You and your fellow participants will each be assigned a service site where you will complete extensive service projects. You'll learn about how your respective organization is run, which communities it serves, and the areas of need that these sites meet. Throughout the program, you will also have the opportunity to work with other organizations on shorter term projects.
Through a series of special programs, guest lectures and group study focused on social justice, non-profit management, activism, leadership training and public policy, you will develop your understanding of service and focus your own passions into vehicles of change.
Throughout the program, you will work directly with talented staff, Brandeis undergraduates and local practitioners in order to develop your own personal service projects, which you will present to a panel of service and aid professionals for feedback and guidance at the conclusion of the program.
