A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community

Dear Members of the Brandeis Community,

In the aftermath of the Blizzard of ’13 (aka Nemo) I want to extend heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire Brandeis family for the heroic efforts of so many of our colleagues over the weekend.

Facilities Services and Public Safety have worked tirelessly — many staff went without sleep for more than 24 hours — to ensure the safety of our students and our campus. Dining Services braved snowy commutes to ensure that students on campus stayed fed. Library faculty and staff maintained limited hours to ensure student access. Student Activities and Community Living staff kept students informed and entertained, and the Office of Communications kept information flowing via email and social media. ’DEIS Impact and the Office of the Arts adjusted to the weather conditions and made campus a great place to be snowbound!

Please take a moment to say “thank you” to all of these folks as you see them today on campus.

I also want to thank all of our students who had a lot of fun and were terrifically supportive of each other throughout the storm. Take a look at some of the photos of fun in the snow on campus this weekend on Facebook.
