Democracy, Coexistence and Conflict in West Africa

On Oct. 8-10, Coexistence International co-hosted an invitation-only workshop in Accra, Ghana together with the Ghana Center for Democratic Development and the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding. The workshop, "Democracy, Coexistence and Conflict in West Africa" convened approximately 25 representatives of leading NGOs, INGOs and intergovernmental institutions from six countries in the sub-region (Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone) that work on issues of peacebuilding, conflict prevention and governance. The workshop explored what is meant by coexistence work, what is meant by democracy work, how it is described and practiced, particularly within West Africa, and the interplay between the two.  Click here to find out more.
