What the Students say:
Each year we carry out an anonymous survey with our students, and one of the questions we ask is “Would you recommend the MA course to others?”
This is what the '08 class said:
“Yes, I'd like to recommend the program as it gives international perspectives - not only US perspectives - in dealing and intervening in conflict around the world.”
“I have already recommended this program to many friends, colleagues and even people that I met on Facebook. And yes, some have already taken me up on my challenge and they have either applied or are planning to apply. Expect many more applications …”
“I would definitely recommend the program because the skills I have gained I wish could be gained also by other people, because the greater the number of qualified people in the field of conflict resolution in any given society the easier it becomes to resolve any prevailing conflict.”
“I strongly recommend it. Without understanding the concepts of Coexistence and Conflict, development activists, planner and politicians can not judge the social change dynamics and can not properly address the contemporary challenges of identity and ethnic conflict around the world.”
“The knowledge gained from the coexistence program is invaluable both professionally and personally. I have definitely learned skills, theories and concepts that will inform my entire career and indeed my entire life. I will use the knowledge gained to contribute to the best of my ability, to the making of peace in the world, and building relationships and communities.”
“I will use the course to influence both government and CSO's. I am involved in a couple of CSO's and I also have very good access to leaders of different political parties including present members of the government as well as insurgent leaders.”
This is what the ‘07 class said:
“Absolutely. The MA includes core courses in which one learns a lot. At the same time, it allows the student to choose the courses of interest as their electives. The program is very supportive of the students needs.”
“Most definitely - the faculty is outstandingly warm and approachable, the material was relevant, and the manner in which it was taught was very "absorbable". It amazes me how fast the year went and just how much we managed to learn in that time.
“I would recommend the Master's Program in Coexistence and Conflict to a colleague because it provides comprehensive and strong theoretical background knowledge of the conflict and coexistence field.”
“Yes. The course reflects research and is based on real life experiences. The facilities are excellent and instructors are people from the field with hand-on experiences. This is very reassuring and reinforced my trust in the course”
“Yes. I have already recommended it to many from my country. I hope they follow my lead. Why? Because I am more experienced than many and this course of full of practical knowledge that you need when (it is only a matter of time) you get into a tight spot!”
“Yes! If somebody wants to be engaged in this field, the theory and practical applications that we learned about in the program are extremely valuable”
“Without hesitation. I think the quality of the program is directly related to the quality of its Faculty - learning from real-world working experts is an invaluable experience and opportunity”
