Adi Grabiner Keinan
Originally from Israel, Adi Grabiner Keinan graduated from Tel Aviv University with a bachelor's degree in history. In 2000 she joined the Branco Weiss Institute for the Development of Thinking, an Israeli nonprofit organization whose aim is to promote challenged students in distressed regions nationwide. In later years, Keinan became head of the social and emotional domain of the institute and developed educational programs for challenged high-school students from different cultural backgrounds.
Her main interest is the connection among education, nationalism and commemoration ceremonies in Israel. She intends to examine the ceremonial model as an educational tool for strengthening patriotic values and representing the different myths of the Israeli nation.
Keinan is pursuing an internship with the Parents' Circle-Families Forum, a grassroots organization of bereaved Palestinians and Israelis that promotes reconciliation.
