Lecturer in Education
Marcie Abramson is currently the Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator and a grade 8 mathematics teacher in the Westwood Public Schools. She, also, is an independent consultant and trainer for teachers of elementary to high school aged mathematics students. Among her passions and specialties are working with teachers to provide strategies and activities to help the struggling math learner as well as to demonstrate ways to get students to be excited about writing in the math class.
She has presented at numerous mathematics conferences, such as those sponsored by NCTM and its affiliates and taught for 15 summers at Boston University in their Upward Bound summer program
Marcie is the author of “Painless Math Word Problems" (Barrons 2010, 2001) and co-author of four other books for middle school aged students.
