Class of 2013

Registration

See the Schedule of Classes for course descriptions and the Academic Calendar for important Brandeis dates and deadlines.

Each semester, one week before the start of online registration on SAGE, you will receive an email with consent codes that allow you to register for your required ED courses.

If you plan to take any content courses which are under-100 level, you will not be able to register online, but will need to complete a Petition for Graduate Credit form, get appropriate signatures, and take it to the registrar's office to be enrolled in the course.

See the SAGE user's guide for information about online registration.

Internship and Licensure

See the MAT public elementary and secondary field handbooks for information about the fall pre-practicum and spring practicum.

During the course of your spring practicum, you will be completing, with the help of your field supervisor and cooperating teacher, the preservice performance assessment (PPA) which includes Massachusetts standards for teachers and is required for an initial teaching license.

See information about the steps to apply for your Massachusetts initial license. You can and should begin your application online early in fall semester.  More information about the licensure process, reciprocity, and MTELs, is on our licensure page.

Job Search in Education

You should begin your formal job search at the start of spring semester, which is January.  You will find job postings, job fairs, and other useful job search resources on the employment page of this website.  You also have resources available through GSAS Career Services --including resume and cover letter review, mock interviews.
