Judy's Workshop: The Intersection of Health and Education - May 7, 2009, 8:30a-4:30pm
This wokshop gave attendees the opportunity to learn about how schools can have a positive impact on children's health and how the health care system can affect children's school achievement. Experts in education and in health discussed these issues informally, leaving ample time for in-depth discussion. Speakers included representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, social policy advocacy organizations, and the former superintendent of the Boston and San Diego schools systems.
The workshop was held in Heller's Schneider Building on May 7 from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Judy's Workshop was held in honor of Judith Gardner, a former member of the Heller School faculty, with generous financial support of the Gardner family. The Workshop was sponsored by the Institute for Children, Youth, and Families and the Brandeis Education Program, and was organized by a student-faculty committee.
