Congratulations to our partner school, Josiah Quincy Upper School in Boston for receiving two well deserved recognitions this spring:  

A Gold Medal rating from US News & World Report for "Best Public High Schools" in America (#4 in the district, #23 in Boston, #417 in the nation) and a #2 ranking in the district and #7 in Massachusetts for its "Most Challenging High Schools" (including private schools) from the Washington Post.

Pedagogy of the Imagination: Second annual interdisciplinary symposium - Wed., April 1, 2009, 6:30 - 8:00, Rose Art Museum

Dirck Roosevelt (Director, MAT) and Robin Dash (artist/educator) delivered a talk entitled "'First there's Water': Material Affordances for Pausing, Noticing, Imagining, and Taking Risks."  MAT alumnus and current 5th grade teacher (Cambridge, MA) Efrat Kussell spoke about the different ways in which a group of fifth and sixth grade students conceived of the imagination. Cultural Production student Becky Lennon spoke about the themes of journey in Grimm's Fairy Tales.  Many other interesting speakers as well.. See the complete program
