Examines how different media use photography and video to depict the evolution of the 2011 Syrian Uprising. It uses "photology" as a theoretical tool to analyze political and social changes in Syria within the context of other historical, economic, and religious factors. An exploration of nationalism and gender in Modern Hebrew literature. By discussing various Hebrew texts and Israeli works of art and film, this course explores women's relationship to Zionism, war, peace, the state, politics, and processes of cultural production. Usually offered every second year.
