Speakers for Spring 2008:

The Language and Linguistics Speaker Series is a series of invited talks, organized each semester by the faculty in the Brandeis Department of Language and Linguistics. We invite professors from various subfields and various universities to speak about their current research. All talks are geared towards undergraduate and graduate students with interests in language and linguistics, and are open to the greater Boston area linguistics community.
All talks are listed in reverse chronological order, latest first.

Please note that the following speakers: Edward Loper, Tejaswini Deoskar, Nianwen Xue, Thomas McFadden and Hans Boas are all candidates for an open position in the new Computational Linguistics Program. Student feedback is an important part of the process of hiring a new professor, and we encourage any students who are available at the times of the talks to attend.
