Here is an audio recording of our recent information session on linguistics-related internships and summer work.

Linguistics Undergraduate Advising

For the Spring 2018 semester, students can see Professor Sophia Malamud (office: Volen 215) or Professor Lotus Goldberg (office: Volen 252) for undergraduate linguistics advising—including declaring or changing majors and minors, and for study abroad advising or signatures.

However, students are encouraged to see Prof. Malamud when possible, with just the exception that those coming for detailed advising about the computational linguistics curriculum or M.A. program should especially see Prof. Goldberg. (Note that Professor Keith Plaster is not doing advising this term.)

The regular, set office hour times for the Spring 2018 semester are:

  • Prof. Malamud: Wednesdays from 2:00 - 4:00 pm
  • Prof. Goldberg: Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Any students who cannot make either scheduled office hour time should email Prof. Malamud for an appointment at a different time.

Office Hour times listed are open to students in the designated professor's courses as well as to those coming for undergraduate linguistics advising, but will give priority to those coming for advising.  This means that students not coming for advising will be seen only once those coming for advising have been seen—and therefore that non-advising students may not be able to be seen before the hour finishes.
