How does it work?
The QB program is not a new graduate program that grants a "Ph.D. in Quantitative Biology” degree. Instead, it leverages the strengths of existing Ph.D. programs at Brandeis by bringing graduate students from these programs in a specialized curriculum that is designed to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by training in multi-disciplinary groups. A student admitted to graduate study in one of the six participating Ph.D. prgrams (see list at left), who chooses the QB track will receive a Ph.D. degree in their chosen discipline “with an additional specialization in Quantitative Biology”. This approach provides the students with modern discipline-bridging training. At the same time the student earns a Ph.D. credential in a recognized traditional discipline, a credential that has proven value on the job market.
