Current Policy
All full-time benefit eligible non-exempt employees receive 12 sick days on the anniversary of their date of hire and up to 120 may be accrued. Employees with less than one year of service accrue one day for each two months of employment. Accruals are pro-rated for less-than-full-time employees.

What's New?
Sick time will accrue on a per-pay-period basis for a total of 12 days per year. When we go live with PeopleSoft, actual existing sick leave balances will be loaded on the system. To ease the transition, employees will also be credited with additional sick days based on the anniversary of their date of hire, as detailed in the chart below. The carry over policy will not change. Other policies regarding the use of sick time will remain the same.
Why?
PeopleSoft tracks sick-time accruals based on the calendar year rather than individual anniversary dates.
Who does this affect?
All benefit-eligible non-exempt employees.
