What's Happening |

The Human Resources and Payroll implementation of the PeopleSoft software is in full swing. The implementation team is in the process of performing three sets of payroll parallel tests. In each set, different types of comparisons are made between the old and new systems, examining things such as tax calculations, retirement contributions, deduction balances, and other critical factors. When these tests are complete, we will be ready to move ahead with PeopleSoft to create checks and maintain the employee database.

What's New

When we begin using PeopleSoft, Brandeis paychecks will include the same information as they do now, but there will be a different look and shape to the checks. We will provide information on the details by the end of March 2002. There will also be new forms to accommodate changes in business process and information gathering for the new system. We will post these forms on the web, and you will be able to fill them out on your computers. We will also post instructions and sample forms. In a few weeks we will offer information sessions on how to download and complete the new forms. The new software uses a web-based method of collecting time worked, and vacation or sick time taken. This will replace paper time sheets. Training for individuals responsible for time collection will be held in March and April. We will continue to use paper for time collection until this training is complete.

The project continues: testing, communicating with users, training staff in central offices (HR/Payroll/Financial Aid/Budget Office) and preparing for GO-LIVE.
