The artist presents a prophetic vision of the ongoing mass violence in Sudan. A boiling cauldron, evoking the oppression inflicted by the Khartoum-based Northern Sudanese regime, rests on the heads of the suffering nation, including the people of southern Sudan, Darfur, and the Nuba mountains. Atem Aleu explains that violence and ethnic cleansing in one region will spread to others like a great fire, consuming the entire country if it is not resisted.
