Irving Epstein, Ph.D. is also the Henry F. Fischbach Professor of Chemistry and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor, with expertise in experimental and theoretical studies of oscillations, chaos, waves and pattern formation in reaction-diffusion systems and nonlinear chemical dynamics.  He is the architect of the Science Posse, a project to recruit and retain a more diverse population of students in the scientific disciplines. As Senior Advisor, Irv works with faculty, center directors, academic and administrative leaders across all disciplines and schools to enhance the University's research enterprise. He has a pivotal role in implementing improvements for research support and coordination, including working with faculty to identify and obtain new research funding.
